THE SHOW
"Mile High with Cathy Specific is a musical comedy
revue about a 'Queen of the skies' whose secret
ambition is to star in her own big Broadway Musical.
She's Cathy Specific, a glamorous airhostess who
jets around the world, waiting for her big break
and while doing so, collects material for her hit
show. So be careful what you say... or do on your
next flight - Cathy might be listening.
Brendan van Rhyn is Cathy Specific, the crème de
la crème of trolley dollies who is a delight to
all whom she serves. This sassy and saucy
stewardess captures our hopes, dreams, tears,
fears, traumas and tantrums about flying. Meet
Cathy Specific and her hunky crew who take you
on a behind-the-scenes look at the glamorous or
(not-so-glamorous) life of a flight attendant. When
the galley curtain opens it's "SHOWTIME" and to her
it's like being onstage, only onboard the overhead
lighting isn't as flattering and the audience doesn't
clap!!
Audiences will recognize many classic songs tailored
to suit Mile High, such as Come Fly With Me,
Singing In The Rain (turned into Singing On A Plane)
and Strangers In The Night (turned into Strangers On A Flight.)
Joining Cathy onstage is the fabulous supporting cast of
Rhyn Flynn and Phumi Mncayi
Written by Maralin Vanrenen and Brendan van Rhyn,
"Mile High with Cathy Specific" is standup comedy
meets musical review in what can only be described as a camp cabaret.
If you think flying's a drag wait till you meet
Cathy, to be Specific... after all, it isn't only
fairies that fly!
Join us for THE MUST SEE show of the season!
